SWANsat was shuttered in 2019
SWANsat (Super Wide Area Network) is a company headed by Dr William Welty (1953-2019). It was founded around a concept of a building a coherent, world-wide Super-Wide Area Network™ that is more secure, cost-effective, wider and faster bandwidth than any wireless service currently available by way of a series of geostationary satellites. One goal is that Christian Ministries would be able to use the service for free. To date, SWANsat exists largely on paper in development and no satellites have been built or launched. Chuck Missler was on the board in a technical advisory capacity.
